Q: So what is a telomere?
A: A telomere is the protective cap at both ends of a DNA molecule. The telomere keeps the DNA double helix strand uniform and tight.

Q: What happens to my telomeres as I age?
A: Your telomere caps continuously shorten as you age. The shorter they get, the less they can keep the DNA strands uniform and tight.

Q: So what happens if my DNA strands aren't tight?
A: Since your DNA carries your genetic information for each cell replication, as the strands get less tight, the genetic information vital for cell replication gets less and less exact. The result is a less than perfect copy of all your cells until the replicated cells, including stem cells, cannot sustain life.

Q: Does that mean that as I age, I gradually lose the capacity to produce the very Telomerase Enzyme I need to maintain exact cell replication?
A: Yes
