KIDNEY STONE PREVENTION

KIDNEY STONE PREVENTION - Kidney Stones are hardened and precipitated crystals that are usually made up of a combination of calcium, oxalic acid, and phosphates. They can form as a result of a urinary tract infection, uric acid, but usually result from dehydration or drinking alkaline water. Their size ranges from a grain of sand all the way up to a golf ball. Ouch!

If you want to prevent getting kidney stones, drink plenty of purified water at a neutral pH and minimize your salt intake. You will also want to get your calcium from a plant based source such as green vegetables or a high quality Coral Calcium that is direct from the coral reef. Such ionized calcium will bind to oxalates, thus keeping the oxalate and oxalic acid out of your urine. The foods that are high in oxalate are red meat, spinach, beets, wheat germ, chocolate, and peanuts. I find it interesting that most of the foods that are high in oxalate are otherwise quite good for anyone who doesn't have a propensity for forming kidney stones.
